Christmas Time

Wow, I cannot believe that Christmas is here!!!  You wouldn't know it from the weather we have had lately.  Where's the snow?  I am sure that it will catch up to us by Spring! Merry Christmas to all!

Drive home last week

Drove past fishermen ice fishing on the lake and a herd of elk this week.  The lake just started freezing over, you couldn't pay me to get on that ice just yet!

Firewood - Preparing for Winter

Due to our busy schedules and hunting season, we had to order a cord of wood for the winter this year.  This will be our fourth winter since moving up here and you can never be too prepared.  What a good workout, whew!

Thanksgiving in Texas

We drove down to Texas for Thanksgiving to be with Murff's family.  It was great to be around family and see how big our nephews are getting!  Of course we also got our fill of Tex-Mex and did some shopping in Salado.  Nothing quite like the Texas Hill County.

New Car

All good things must come to an end.  So long Outlander (aka Bessie), welcome Forester!  Nickname undetermined.  Finally bit the bullet and bought a new car Friday before Turkey Day!!  Still, was sad to see the Outlander go, had been around since we lived in Texas and moved us up here.

First fire of the season

It was about 15 degrees yesterday morning and we had our first fire of the season!!  Today isn't much better at 20 degrees but at least the sun is coming out.  Went to test drive Subarus yesterday.  Will be hard to part with the Outlander but she is getting up there in miles.

I had actually never seen this commercial until today.  Our friend saw it on tv then posted it on YouTube so we could watch it!  Murff was asked to be in this commercial when we lived in Houston.  Circa 2005 I believe.

Wildlife

Hud was barking at something this morning.  When I looked out the window, I saw a fox roaming around outside.  Nothing like going on the deck with a cup of joe, looking at animals in your backyard.  Tried to get a good picture but it's a little far away.  Better luck next time!

Early AM Hunt - Eurad Area

We set out at driving at 4am on the hunt for mule deer.  Hiked in a wicked snow storm.
Toughed it out in the snow for 5+ hours then called it quits.  Better luck next year!!!
